Did not know they had one. Is it an oil or cream? Do you know how much it costs?

That's a good idea, however, I would ask a doctor, and if he would suggest an
anti-fungal treatment, Nail Tek's is the most effective treatment available
without a prescription.

Shannon,

Blood work will only tellabout what testswas ordered. If her doctor didn't
think it was necessary he might not of ordered a complete blood work up. I
would suggesttrimming her naturalnails back tothe end of her finger or
shorter. The extra weight will not help them toreattach. The more they
separate from the nail bed the more risk for infection. Also,it might be a
good idea to keep an antifungal medication on them. What do you all think?

Thank you for this info, I didn't realize that stress could present itself like
that. I know that the Cat scan and MRI's can't show everything, just that her
current Dr. at the time was doing nothing at all but telling her it was
stress, she had to beg for Blood work, and they told to her face, that ok
we'll do the blood work and it will come back just fine and then you will know
its just stress. Well it came back with a B deficiency, so there is a start.
And I am almost positive that she has changed Dr.s. finally.

Anyway thank you all for your very great responses, I will tell her when she
comes in that she should just try to grin and bare it for a while and to come
in to get regular mani's to keep them in check. And NO enhancements.

I am not going to address the nail issues this woman is having because all of
you have done it so nicely. BUT after the past 5 year of school I am going to
address the CT and MRI idea. Just want to let you know that neither of these
is a final decree both can miss things just as Xray and Ultrasound are not
perfect either. The doctors need to put together all the info they have and
YES Stress can present itself physically in many different ways- even swelling.
Hopefully they will find an answer for her- the lymphatic system as many of you
are aware detoxes the body and can cause several of these sysmptoms describes
but that doesn't mean its the answer- TIA and stroke also share some of the
symptoms so you see it is not so easy to help her I hope her doctors are on top
of things and use all available resources.

I think she is finally seeing another Dr. and they did blood work and she is
going for B-12 shots. She don't think that is the problem, and quite frankly
neither do I. I think she needs a cat scan or MRI of her whole body to see
what the heck is going on. Oh and I think she is going to see a neurologist.

Anyway, so any suggestions out there? This poor girl needs some help, her
fingernails just rip right off they are so thin, they are in pain.

Thanks
Shannon
