No Vito...the bit is not hindered at all...it sticks out under the vacuum 
part.? Did you look at Athena's pics?? the vacuum part is over and slightly 
behind the bit...

Well I was saving for a $500 dust extractor..........but I found the Lauraco 
for $100. It is tiny and quiet. In fact it doesn't? make as much noise as a 
blow dryer.? Very effective for gel dust. works on acrylic but not the larger 
pieces.? I would say it collects 90% of the dust!
