Gel is much more impervious to water than acrylic. You can sanitize the
feet, do your gel , and then perform the pedicure. Sherry Hubbard

Hi!

I have yet to attempt gel toenails... It is on my TO DO list but my concern
is: after soaking the feet for so much time, doesn't the water saturation in
the toenails cause ultimate lifting?

Hey Athena... Just want to say I love reading your posts on here... :)

Anyhoo, I stopped doing water manicures in about '99. In fact, since CND
just came out with the Almond SpaManicure line, I busted out my beautiful
ceramic finger bowls, and they were DUUUUUSSSSSSTTTTTYYYYY... lol.

I do a what I call a Classic Manicure for $20... takes me about 30 minutes.
I sanitize, file, push back cuticles (LOVE CND cuticle remover!), apply
scrub... client wash, then I polish, and do a shorter massage. I have just
put the Almond SpaManicure on my menu for $25 since no paraffin... Then my
full CND SpaManicure takes just about an hour and is $30.

I have the same kind of steps for my pedicures. A Classic Pedicure for $30
includes soak, clip, file, cuticles, scrub (rinse), polish and light
massage. Takes about 45 minutes with soak time. My SpaPedicure (minus the
mask) is an hour and 15 minutes and I charge $50- soak, clip, file,
cuticles, callus removal, scrub (rinse), massage to the knee, paraffin and
polish. I have a hot stone pedicure for $50 also- longer massage, no
paraffin, buff nails instead of polish. And my big ticket item is a "Foot
Makeover" for $70... pink and white acrylic toes and a spa pedicure... takes
about an hour and a half.

I use a crystal file for most all my services, and generally use OPI
polish... just fyi. :)

Wow. My business in a nutshell... that was kind of fun!!

Happy filing...

Michele...)

Hi michelle, I love your idea. Even tho I don't have probs w my polish
lasting...I just love to switch thangs up. I was wondering a few thangs....
Are you doing water manicures by chance? When I began doing water less in
'97 it reduced the chipping by at least 50%. Using a 240 grt and the brand
of polish all made huge diff for me. What do you charge for a one hour basic
pedicure? What is the least expensive service you offer for the least amount
of time? On 1/8/09, Michelle Cordes <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey
