Here's an idea to let folks know you're there. See if you can get ahold of an old sign holder from a retail store, the kind that stands up and make you a sign, even if it is homemade and put it out on the sidewalk. We did one that said FREE nail art with a full set of nails. The FREE was in giant letters to get their attention. Print ads seem to be a waste of time. Carry business cards with you and give them to everyone. See if you can join your Chamber of Commerce. Ours came out with the paper and gave us a very nice Grand Opening Ceremony.
As far as your gels, I don't know, but I'm sure the great minds on this list will figure it out for you. I'm glad you're not giving up. Attitude can be alot when you're sturggling.
