They said on the show that the biggest reason to remove the extra toes is that
having the extra width would cause issues with shoes fitting improperly and
causing pain. The doc said there was really no reason to do anything about the
extra fingers (although it would be tough to wear gloves comfortable).

Question though, is there really a need to remove the extra's? Or only if
they don't look the same.

I have done several clients in the past with webbed toes, but haven't seen any
in quite a while. I think they are pretty cool myself, the human body
fascinates me.

My sister was born with an extra toe. She had it removed when she was about
ten. For some time she was off balance. She still has the toe in a cup at her
place. When I had one of my kids, there was a baby with an extra digit in the
nursery. The way it is done now is to band them and they will fall off. Not a
pretty thing to watch, but effective!I recently hooked up with some old friends
on Facebook and they asked about my sister and her toe!! Funny what people will
remember!Buenos noches,Lynnette

Wednesday, February 4, 2009, 8:54 AM Good morning Ladies Did y'all see on the
Early Show. The baby boy with a perfectly formed finger on each hand and a
perfectly formed toe on each foot. Very rare for them to be completely formed.
It was awesome to see. Sent from Caralyn's iPhone
