Barb, I went through this very same thing. You need Sulfa if you can take it. If you cant, the dr will know what to give you. If you arent better tomarrow, I would go right back to urgent care. My urethra need to be stretched its uncomfortable but after the first pee it isnt so bad. Your antibiotic is going to take at least 24 to 36 hours to kick in. Drink plenty of pure diluted cranberry juice or water NO alcohol and coffee can irritate to. Fill the tub with hot water and soak with your legs open if you have to pee at that time , just do it in the tub or make a hot pack and stick it between your legs. I sure feel for ya. Keep us posted. I left with a UT infection that they gave me a prescription for but i continuously got worse instead of better.
