Just returned late last night from the HRTE class in Cincinnati and I am so impressed with this new adventure. I have been to many shows and classes and this is one of the top must haves. In fact I learned more from this two day class than I have of years attending trade shows. When you are at a trade show you are with THOUSANDS of people, and to get up close to an educator and get that one on one special treatment, well it's not going to happen. Heck, I will skip special treatment, just show me what I am doing wrong!!! !Or tell everyone to move out of the way so I can see what the heck you are doing. And waiting in line for someone to show you something, well forget that. I love trade shows. I love manufacturers classes (when you find a good one), but this class is another adventure, to ADD on to your road to education. We could buy products, we learned about different products, we had individual training, we had demos and most important HANDS ON TRAINING. Non product specific. These educators did not push specific products, they pushed us to lean new techniques. Different points of view. We had gel educators, we had hand painted art educators, we had acrylic educators, we had pedicure educators, we had BLING educators, we had acrylic art educators, WOW WOW WOW ALL in one room, ALL just for US, not thousands of people, but about 35 of us. The first day were demos that we all could see up close and personal. Day 2 was these educators walked around and sat next to us and watched us work. WOW. Now where are you going to find that type of education??? There was one point where I thought I was going to lose it!!!!!!!! I had asked Katherine (colored ac artist from Singapore) to show me how to do a rose. I had asked Gina (Akzentz gels) to help me with some gel problems I am having. So Katherine is showing us how to do a rose, then Gina starts her smile lines, I am standing right between them, watching both!! Lordy Be, Lordy Be, the pressure I was under going back and forth!!!!!!! LOLOLO which one to watch, which one to watch, okay Diana, watch both, you can do it!!!!!!!! LOLOL Alice came up behind me and started laughing because she knew that I was freaking out LOLOLOL Rhonda McCarthy the nail art queen, helped me with my squiggly lines and started my road to nail art in my little notebook. She gave me an A+ and a gold star. I graduated from the pre-school of squiggly lines!!! LOLOL Amy Becker (Masterworks) well she just has a new way of doing gels, that I am just thinking, wow, never thought of that. Loni Preato (Young Nails) oh my gawd, at the trade shows, never never could get up close and personal to watch her work, amazing bling!!!!!!!! Joseph Pham, OPI artist, amazing techniques on filing and backfills, wow, new techniques to conquer and was sooo funny!!! Alice Wallace, our pedicure queen always shows me new tools and tricks of pedicures and knows of all products when it comes to the feet. And is honest with you about buy this don't waste your money on that. . Natlalie Frank showed us tricks of gels and nail art, and made me realize that I am not as bad as I thought when it came to gels. Gina Silvestro (Akzentz gels) who is very patient with newbies to gel and explains everything about all gels so we can understand it better. Catherine Wong from Singapore (NailQ), OH MY GAWD. You have zero idea what this woman can do. Just over the top. She did the most amazing work that I have ever seen. You just have to see the peacocks on Loni's nails, just amazing. (and yes did finally get a rose late late last night) And then of course Tammy Warner who puts this whole thing together who was walking around helping everybody with everything and asked me to speak about laws and rules concerning state boards. I met so many techs from this area, and put faces to names on the boards. It was an honor to meet everyone. So go to your trade show, go to your manufacturers class, go to a networking event, and a MUST, to go to a High Road class, worth every penny, every second, you will learn so much, from different educators and a small period of time. Quality education. Bang for the Money. Watch and Learn and Hands On!!!!!!"
