Subject: Chicago show and more...

Hola from Chicago everyone!!!
Whew!!! I have NO idea where to begin!!!!!!! What a whirlwind of a weekend.
Okay-- an earlier post told you about meeting Patrice who was so kind to take
me to the Vietnamese supply places. She had the patience of a saint while
waiting for me to browse all the stores. She told me who had the better deals
and what to expect. I got quite a bit of stuff at those places.
My daughter had me going all over the city showing me the sites. We walked ALL
over. I got to see the skating rink by "the Bean." Will post all those photos
on Facebook. (if you do not have an account, GO DO IT NOW. That means you,
Diana!! And Mary!)
I got to visit the Steve Wilcos studio--big deal--said with tongue in cheek!!
Was funny to see the security set up for getting in that show and Jerry
Springer. I wanted to check the chairs to see how damaged they were!! lol
We went to the Reagle Beagle-think Three's Company on Thursday and Giordano's
on Friday. I am not sure if I got enough exercise while here, but my Wii Fit
will let me know tomorrow when I go home.
Yesterday was the show. Had a great time. Met up with Diana and we shopped. Boy
did we shop!!!
I was at the Dashing Diva booth when I saw Diana walk by. It was so loud she
did not hear me yelling for her, but the woman next to me was her bosses wife!
I had two nails done at the DD booth. I had the "prescription nails" put on one
nail. I have my stuff already packed so I do not know the name of their
products. YET.
They also have these AWESOME tips that apply to ONLY the free edge for NATURAL
nails. French look. BUT, I have to tell you that this is one of THE most
innovating products I have seen in a LONG time.
You apply them to the natural nail with glue and can polish right over them.
They are SOOOOO thin you would not believe it. You can also apply the tip to
artificials and apply your gel or liquid and powder over them. They are the
PERFECT FRENCH tip. OMG... soooo, I bought them. Two types of length. I also
got the full well nails. At first if you look at them in the box you will think
"EWW, are they FUGLY!" But once applied, they are beautiful. Again, there will
be photos on Facebook.
The tech, who turned out to be Patricia Yankee, did my nails. She applied a
soak off gel on one. I am in LOVE with this stuff. I wound up purchasing that
kit today, Sunday. Not only do they have a clear, but they also have two shades
of pink to cover those flaws!!! Corrective soak off gel. What more could a gal
ask for?
Well, it turns out that Diana also got it, but I can let her tell you her side!
Wow.... what next? We found this small table selling POP OUT nail art. You use
color acrylic in this small plastic rubbery thing-a-majig. I saw these at one
of the places that Patrice took me to, but there was not a demo for me to see
how it works. Okay, Diana bought THREE on Saturday and #4 on Sunday!!!! I got
two of them. Wait until you see what can be done with them!! OMG... OKAY..
photos on Facebook on them too. (when I get home,; I am on Jaclynne's computer
and cannot do it from here.)
Then we were walking around to find drill bits and Diana comes to a halt and
says--that looks like Minx!! You need to see this stuff too!!! OMG.... Trendy
Nails.... very similar to Minx, but it is used to apply to nails as the free
edge designs and then you apply your gel or acrylic over it. Way too cool.
Diana got two designs and I got two.
Okay... it is almost midnight Chicago time and I have to leave here at 9 am. I
will be back in PA Monday night.
I promise to finish this story as it has MUCH more...... I want to tell you
about all the GREAT people I met.
buenos noches from Chi town,
Lynnette
