I always say good fences make good neighbors.....you need to set some
boundaries in clear, concise WRITING! Make up a contract...even if it's
just a piece of note paper with a list of items you discussed and the
expectations of both sides.

Set a meeting...and have a list already made up: who does what, who pays
for what, when, where, why...all the questions. Most importantly...make it
clear you maintain the final say.

Remember that 50-50% does NOT work....you need someone to get you unstuck
when you're both right! ;-)

Make notes on the list as you talk....both of you sign it, date it and keep
a copy.

Trust me...get it in writing!

Subject: NailTech:: Re: Sharing my single space with a hairdresser

Kimberly,

I would consider all cost and just charge her one flat rent fee. It will
make it easier in the long run. You might also want to make it clear up
front what she is responsible for in the salon, like cleaning! Just some
thoughts.....

Subject: NailTech:: Sharing my single space with a hairdresser

I might soon be sharing my small salon with a single (part time, I
believe) hairdresser. What things should I consider or watch out
for ?
Anyone have any experiences to share on how to make this a good union
and avoid any problems ? I'm not sure what to charge her in way of
including Heat/Air and Water (Utilities) plus other things like the
coffee bar, paper towels and bathroom tissue ??? Any advice is
appreciated :)
