Poor Michelle... you poor thing.. I so hate that for you as I have been
there myself. As much as I would say to you "GO INDEPENDENT"... worst case
scenario: take another commissioned position SOME WHERE ELSE! I am so
sorry this has happened to you. but be sure to get contact information on
every client you work on before you go! LOL

OMG! So, it's been a month now and I did not run far away and as fast as I
could from this crazy person who only wants to pay 42% commission. Now, her
manager is just as crazy as she is and is a major cause of problems in the
shop.
Anyway, have you ever met someone who says they want one thing but do
another?? The owner said she closed her last salon because there was too
much gossip and drama going on. She says she wants a more professional
atmosphere.
How can you have these things when you are comparing your professional staff
to discount salons? I have an appointment for a full set. It's booked for 1
1/2 hrs. She was like "What???? How can it take that long?" Then the new
stylist agreed with me and she said "You have got to be kidding. Walmart can
get you out in 45 minutes." This coming from someone who has only ever gone
to a discount salon to get her nails done.
I don't think she has any clue what a professional salon is. She told me and
the other tech that we were weird when we started asking for specific
supplies (like smaller acrylic brushes).
I could not believe I was being compared to a discount nail tech today. It
made my blood boil. I am a very outspoken person and it was all I could do
to not scream.
I have been looking every day for a new job. At first I was trying to give
her the benefit of the doubt but after today I know I can't stay there. It's
tough out there for everyone and I know that beauty services are suffering
as well. How can I build a clientele in this economy. Because right now I
have nothing to lose (other than my sanity). She seemed so cool and I
thought she was going to be a great boss. She seemed very receptive to more
professional ideas. ( cough cough cough)
I am still dumbfounded!

Thanks for listening and you advice. I love this group of PROFESSIONALS!!
