Is there something to look for that will help us decide weather or not to work
on someones toenails?

Michelle when I talk about "fungal treatments" I'm talking about the cases
where a Dermatologist has obtained a culture from a nail and sent it to a
laboratory for proper analysis and returned as a positive "fungus parasite".
There are many forms (mostly bacteria) that in time can even cure themselves
when not treated. I have no doubt that you've had positive results.

But I'm referring to the "true" and tested fungus.  And as a technician to
continue treating a client with the parasite only risks the chance of
contracting it yourself or spreading it to clients.

I must respectfully disagree.  Tolnaftate has been successful in curing the
fungus of a number of my clients.

Alicia,
TRUE fungus (until recently) could only be cured by taking a prescription
drug.  However, there is new information that laser treatments are now a new
option.  Athena can testify to that.  I believe the doctor in her medical spa
is doing the treatments.

There is no topical (over the counter) cure for true fungus.

If what this client has is a green spot...(or purple depending how old it is
and how long it had to party on the nail) we're talking about a very easy
situation.  My favorite all time quote, I believe came from Vicki Peters...
"The green spot is bacteria Poop".
