MIchelle.. Amtrak is a very good option I have taken the train from home up to Boston/Prov area many times.. You take Amtrak from your local station to NYP (New York Penn) When you come off the train you go up to the ticketing level.. then follow the signs to the LIRR -- take the train to Ronkonkoma.. It doesnt save mney or time, but it is a wonderful trip
