There was an article in one of the nail mags about formaldehyde in polishes.. here it is... Unless there is something else in the FF polishes that could cause them to dry slow, but as I said I don't have issues.
Q: Is formaldehyde a carcinogen? Why is it in nail polish? A: You may be surprised to learn the formaldehyde if not an ingredient in nail polish, hardeners or any other type of nail product. Until recently, manufacturers we required to list formaldehyde on the label even though the actual name of the ingredient is methylene glycol, a different chemical that id created by reacting formaldehyde and water. It is strange but true! No one cared about the difference until it was reported that inhaling large amounts of "dry formaldehyde gas" can cause a rare type of nasal cancer. Manufacturers became concerned that people might hear about this, get the wrong impression and mistakenly believe that this danger also applied to nail polish and other products. Over the last few years the NMC had worked tirelessly to get this error fixed. Now, manufacturers can use the correct ingredient name, methylene glycol on labels. Don't believe the recent hype - nail polish neither causes cancer or birth defects. Polish has a very long history of safe use and is among the safest consumer product you can buy or use. Usually they all dry within ten to fifteen minutes--any brand. The past few weeks it seems that all OPI just stayed wet and tacky. WTH? Anyone else having this problem? My daughter, a hairdresser, just wore OPI's Vampire State Building for 5 days with no chipping. She is a BUSY girl in her salon. This may be the longest she's gone without chipping.
