Simmy,
This happens no matter what acrylic I use.
I thought I would try what Pati did to see if it happens.
The only reason I did not try the gels yet is because I also feel extreme heat
when under the UV lamp. Even if the gel is rice paper thin!
I think I just have nails that are much too flexible and the curing shrinks,
therefore pulling my nails right off the bed.
I tried leaving them on, but the lifting only got worse.
My nails do reattach. I put nails on on July 2nd and the next day it began.
Took most of them off within a week and by last week, three weeks later, my
nails were fine. It is weird!
My conclusion is just that. My nails are too flexible and the shrinkage just
pulls the nails right off the bed.
Buenos dias,
Lynnette

Actually, its funny you say that Lynnette. 22 YEARS ago, in the stone age of
nails, I used a soakable gel called GG's. It worked great but yellowed after a
while. I bring this up because after using it for a while, clients would feel
it curing and it actually bonded to the nail so well that it squeezed a deep
c-curve into the nail. After a while it began to hurt in the nail groove at the
hyponichicum. Their nail began to lift from the nail bed. I stopped using it
at that point.
Their nails were not thin like you are describing, they were just normal
healthy nails. But the what you described happens to your nails with acrylic
sounds similar to what I encountered with this soakable gel from years ago.
Anyone want to speculate?

Pati,
I am glad you suggested this.
For some reason, I, too, feel acrylic curing. Always have, but it is worse. Now
I get the lifting from the nailbed whenever I wear acrylic. You can see it
within 24 hours. I can FEEL the naills pulling away. And it heats up, too.
Remember when we took the Entity class in Florida? It was as if my nails were
squeezed too much to make that awesome C curve. But I do not do that.
The next time I wear nails, I will try te soakable gel.
Does anyone else have this problem?

ahhhhh...ok I thought you were coming at it from another angle..."healthwise"
....
Personally...and maybe this might help someone's client in the future...I find
I can not wear ac right now...nails are still too weak and the curing of the ac
actually hurts me! I can feel it "tightening" ...it aggravates my neuropathy!?
BUT....I put some soak off gels on last week and they seem to be doing
ok....not long at all just overlayed the natural nail...cause they are lumpy
and bumpy and ridgy etc..I just want them to be smoother and not jagged...think
it might help them grow in...

To me I just feel better with the low odor product.?

It seems that I get better retention with this product.?

Especially since nails are so much more fragile at this?

Point. ?As you can attest from personal experience.?

The lifting, crumbling and just total loss of nail.?

Now this is just my personal experience and opinion.?

Dayna.
I too love Vicki Peters AC systems. I use the odorless monomer on my clients
that have or had cancer. And regular on everyone else. I love love her clear
too.

I have tried everything! Every time I go to a show, I pick up another
product to give it a try.
For the ones I have stuck to for longer periods of time were, Creative,
Tammy Taylor, OPI, Young Nails and now Vicki Peters.
I must say that the VP Products are by far my favourite! The product goes on
SO easy, it files like butter and NO clients have issues with service
breakdown, i.e. lifting, breaking, yellowing etc.
The mixed ratio isn't so touchy, the whites are WHITE, the clear is by far
the clearest I have ever seen.

The customer service is A+ (wink) and the Educators are especially awesome
(wink, wink).
