You'd think. But with Twitter,  you can update from your cell phone whenever
you want. Which is kinda cool. I don't have to be at home, in front of the
computer, with time to update my website.

I can also tweet last minute opennings, which was sort of my original reason
for getting on Twitter to begin with. But then, my exisiting clients and target
demographic hasn't quite embraced Twitter yet, so I don't have clients
following me on Twitter. I was going to just shrug it off until I realized I
could get it on my website -- which means that even if they aren't following me
I'm still getting my tweets seen.

So far I have had two people who came in because of a special that was on my
website...not a bad return on a $0 investment.

When you go to your Twitter home page, go to "settings" then "account" there's
a spot where you can enter your URL, under that box there's a link that says,
"You can also add Twitter to your site here." Click there.

>From there you can create the code to add your Twitter feed to just about any
>website, including Facebook and Myspace.

Which means that I can Tweet specials and such and essentially get it on my
website, my blogger site, AND my Myspace site all at once! Without having to
update each site individually.

NOW! If I could just get people in this stinkin town to figure out YELP!

Hey Maggie,

How do you put your Twitter feed on your Website?  Also, if you have a specials
page on your site, doesn't that do the same thing?

Exactly the problem. It's like sending out a bulletin on Myspace or updating
your status on Facebook-- all your "followers" will see it.

Which means you really need followers who are part of your target demographic.
Which has been my problem so far.

However-- I also have my Twitter feed on my website, so anyone looking at my
website can also see my  latest tweets. Once I remembered this, that's when I
decided to go ahead and tweet specials. So far-- eh. But it's a FREE
advertising venue, so even if only one person ever comes in because of it, the
return on investment is outstanding! :-) (and I've had two so far.)

I know there are people out there that put specials and advertise on Twitter so
I have signed up and I'm trying to understand how it all works.  If I put my
wesite and some specials on there how do I know who, if anyone is going to see
them?
