Karen, I use Entity ac. and Brisa gels. I tried to fill an ac client with gel and the gel chipped right off the tips of her nails. How thin do you make your ac before overlaying it with gel? Maybe if I thin the ac out more so there is more gel then ac it would work better. What is your opinion on that? Seems for me that the gel doesn't want to bond with the ac. I rough the ac up with a 180 grit. Angie Wingerter

Not only would the underlying acrylic get brittle and shatter or pocket life, but it would also usually turn yellow. So….I tell the clients that I am willing to try a fill…but if, when they come back for the next fill, in my professional opinion the acrylic needs to come off…I will waive the soak off fee if they allow me to put on a full set. I use Young Nails gels over Young Nails acrylics all the time with NO problems…I also use Vicki Peters gels over her acrylics all the time….but I have NOT had good luck using gels over generic, cheap acrylic. So…it depends. Good luck! I am in the middle of discussion with a new salon. Cross fingers I hope it works. They really want to start gels. My question, they have a lot of acrylic clients that are interested in crossing over to gels. What is the best way to transition them over? I know one nail tech does a gradual transition (not sure how) and others just soak off and start with gels?? What is the BEST and SAFEST way??? Thanks so much guys. :) Shannon Kuharik --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
