Diana
Sounds very clever. Would love to see this idea. I have the $2 color discs
that I get from the Vietnamese supply house. So I have/had circles of glitter
colors and gel colors thumb tacked to the wall for the clients to see and easy
to take down and try their finger. It got quit colorful.

And I don't pre mix in a container either. I have 100 different
glitter colors, there is NO WAY. And most want a different color
anyway. I have to get a pic of my "bling tree" I told you guys about.

It is a necklace holder, looks like a tree without leaves, fall or
winter. And I have the fan discs from Light Elegance, looks like
spoons. I hang them from the trees!!! Also have another tree with
nothing but color polish Best polish display system I have EVER
FOREVER EVER came up with!!! Clients think they are all new colors,
nope, same old stuff!!! Too cool!!!!!!!! diana from indiana

Where does everyone buy the glitter? I have seen it on nailites site
and young nails.

I also sprinkle all of mine, haven't tried the dip into gel then
into glitter yet though. But most of my glitters came in a jar with
a sprinkle top on them, which makes it so much easier to apply
where I want it, esp when doing a fade. I don't have big globs of
glitter coming out at once. I still get mess from excess but I
apply over a sheet of paper and pour it back into the container.

I sprinkle my glitter. I have way too many jars of glitter to mix
and store too!!
I really do not have a problem taking off the glitter on the skin. I
use a wrapped piece of cotton with my 70 something % alcohol and it
gets rid of most of the loose glitter.

I think it's something that you need to try both ways because I
prefer to store my glitters in and sprinkle it on when I do full
coverage glitter. I don't like storing the glitter mixed with gels.
This is my preference and is what works for me. I know people who do
it both ways so it's dependent on what works best for the individual. :)

The coverage is very good. I don't have any pics but I'll try to get some out.

I like the sound of that. Do you get good coverage? I fond I get
denser coverage with the sprinkle method butthe mess drives me nuts.
Do you have pix?

Ruth, I am a mixer vs. a sprinkler, LOLOL Have tried both ways, pros
and cons of both. Just what you want to do.

I have tried one foot mix and one foot sprinkle, and the mixer is a
more deeper color, more dense and on my little study, lasted longer.
But takes more time, and the client has no idea if the color is
deeper or dense than the other method.
I prep, apply coat of clear gel, cure, take my brush dip in gel and
glitter and apply to toe. cover toe, freeze, and go onto next
toe. Cure. Then add clear gel on top and cure.

When adding "inserts" those little stones and gems, add them before I
add the final coat of gel.

I have added bling over ac, but only once. Just don't have to worry
about "prep" the natural nail.

I charge $25 if I pull my gel out for bling. Period. I do give them
a $5 discount if they have a spa ped. Spa ped plus bling about 1 1/2 hours.

Bling toes, if their toes are ready to go (they have them filed,
polish removed etc.) about 35 minutes.

I have ZERO problem of my bling curing on any color I use, even the
black or the dark dark reds. Doesn't matter.

Fill ins or removal, still $25.00. My removal is included in the
charge only if they have left them off for 2 months or longer. I
have not had anyone that wanted their bling color to change every two
weeks or even a month. (they last so long!!!!) so haven't had to
worry about charging them extra for removal as of yet.

The only must have on toe prep would be I always pull me e-file out
and use the sciver bit for the cuticle area. Love this bit.

The thing that I have started is taking a small miniature polish
bottle, pouring clear top coat in it and adding their "bling" glitter
and making a special matching color to match their bling. this is
for those that want these on for months at a time and they can polish
the growth. Has been a big hit!!!!!!!!
I use Starbuck stirrers, the end of them, add glitter to the bottle,
pour top coat in until about half full, shake and then add more glitter.

You need to do this Ruth. Has been a big success in this
economy. diana from indiana

I am sorry, but just getting on the band wagon now.

I was trying to find teh steps/directions for bling, couldn't find.
Could someone please share?

Do you mix your glitter with the gel or sprinkle it on?
When using more than one color glitter how do you keep them
seperated?
Are you doing bling over acrylics too?
What special prep do you do for natural nail overlays?
If using stones, gems, etc. do you incase that with the gel as well?
What is your average time for bling with ped, and bling with manicure?
What are you charging?
What are your procedures for fills or monthly peds?

Thank you so much for putting up with me.
