Caralyn, that is funny. Reminds me of when a friend was having a housewarming
party. Her husband wanted to put money on the bed so others would do that too.
(As gifts) I HATE housewarming parties as I feel people are asking for gifts. I
would just have a party and NEVER want or EXPECT gifts. Sheesh!!! Thanks for
the laugh!
I did not get to read the article yet. I am on standby at DFW. I just want to
go home.
Buenos dias,
Lynnette

Y'all
OMG
Let me tell y'all about this one. Y'all are gonna pee your pants. Y'all heard
me talk about the "Very High End Spa" that I worked at that was just a
expensive NSS. Ok, well the facial girls, and massage girls ( cuz the owner was
lesbian and didn't hire men) so I can say girls.
These service providers would find pretty trays or bowls and and put their own
cash their 10's 20's so it would look like they were getting tipped well. I
called it bating the client. Well the owner got pissed at me and told me to
mind my own business and maybe I should try to get my tips up.
I told I was doing just fine thank you
Do y'all believe that?

Caralyn.

OH! I dont think a tip jar is very cool. Here we go again with a lot of
opinions. Clients don't have to give us tips. I like tips and I will reserve
special favors for clients that give tips but to be blatant and put out a
jar-----I wouldn't do that. Some clients may be so offended by it that they
will deliberately NOT leave a tip because it's asked for.

GREAT ARTICLE!!!

I have actually contemplated raising my rates just a smidge and then explaining
that I no longer accept tips. I have not done this cuz I have not totally
thought it through. Yet it is something I still contemplate as something
different from the other shops...Great service and no tip expectations....what
do others think about this tip thing?!?!?!
