Good Morning All,
I need your help. I have been working in a salon within a retirement
community. It's wonderful. I do mostly manis and pedis but I did do a gel
overlay on Saturday on a lady that has sever arthritis in her hands. She loves
her nails done but regular polish won't stay on because her nails are peeling
at the free edge. So, I put clear gel overlay on her and she was very
excited. I cleaned up the free edge and I think I did a good prep. BUT
yesterday she came back in and the gel and her nails are peeling at the free
edge!!! There is no lifting at the cuticle or the sides. I was aware of
capping and thought I had taken extra care in making sure each nail is capped.
Also, it seems to be on her left hand, all four fingers and she is right
handed. I beleive the peeling is due to bad circulation in her fingers as
there is a blue tint to her nails at the cuticle.
So, here's the question: Did I do something wrong or is there something else I
can use to help her with her nails? I used Nailite extra hard clear gel. I
prepped, put on bonding, two very thin coats and cured 3 minutes each.
I appreciate any suggestions you wonderful, knowledgeable techs have!! Many
thanks in advance!!
