We had one day with gels at school. We were given the OPI Axiuum kit and the
UV light and were told to "practice." Then our teacher asked me and the other
girl I was in class with who wanted to do a full set on a client in the clinic
2 days later.

You didn't learn to do gels when you took your nail tech course? Wow.

No ma'am, you did not get gel nails at the salon you went to. The salon you are
in now has real gel. I know that YN has tutorials on their website. Perhaps you
can check IBD's site for tuts.

I have clients requesting gel nails and this is something I have not
done yet. I went to have mine done in a salon and it seemed simple to
learn to me becuase it was the same process as applying acrylic with
the powder and the liquid. The only difference was that there was a
gel coating painted over the hardened surface and then set under the
UV lamp. Is this really gel? In the salon I work in now they have a
gel system but I have never seen it before. It is IBD but instead of a
powder and liquid the containers have a thick gel like substance in
them. How is this gel applied. I need to know because i need to teach
myself ASAP.
