Shelley It's definately quieter than a vaccum. But Just louder than a blow dryer. It's not too bad. In my next salon I will have it in a cabinet ( vented of course for sound purposes only) with the hose coming out the top of the table. I love it so that I WILL buy a second one for my pedicure area so I don't have to continually move it back and forth from room to room.
