When I became a nail tech 20 yrs ago  I had a full time office job with 
benefits.  I went to cosm school
and started doing nails part time only until I was booked.  Then I quit and 
I've been doing it ever since.  I agree with you about the reasons why you're 
not making money.  It's been slow for me, too.  You might want to try getting a 
part time job somewhere until you get busy.  Definitely take some classes for 
more education and to keep the passion going.
