Maggie,
It may take you about 15 minutes longer for a "no-chip" mani than a traditonal
mani but your clients will be so much happier that they can run out the door
and not worry about the seat belt or car keys damaging their polish that they
most likely will "put up" with the extra few minutes! Just a thought. Oh and I
LOVE your rants..keep writing please!

S'cool.

My theory for myself is that if these gel "polishes" are really supposed to be
contenders for replacing traditional polish, then I need to realistically be
able to take the same amount of time for the gel as I do for the polish. So
far, that's not quite happening.

Interesting. I don't accomodate these types. I'm sorry to sound like
the Nail Nazi but I decide how long my services take, not my clients.
I need an hour for quality service and I don't do well with being
rushed. I'd prefer they find another tech than to allow my work to be
less than what I prefer. An hour allows me time to work with less
stress on my back and shoulder, etc - yes, often I finish early, but I
always tell them to allow an hour.

By the way, I've never lost a client do to these policies. 20 years in
the biz - most clients have been with me the whole time, I must be
doing something right.
