Ruth, UV does not sterilize. As far as what we have been told there are only two ways to sterilize-- autoclave and glutahalderyde. (sp?) Sterilization in the salon is so controversial. I do not believe that we need to sterilize. Sanitize and disinfect, yes. Once you take out the implements from their bag, they are no longer sterile. To me, IMHO, it is giving the client a false sense of security. I have never sterilized my implements and not once has a client picked up anything from my salon. Sterilizing the human body? Burn to death!!!!! ;-) Buenos dias, Lynnette http://www.facebook.com/nailtech Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

Of course they went into 3 different NSS places and pedicures was on the list, credo blades and dirty tools. He had a dermo on and she said that techs and salons should use a UV Sterlizer and place tools in it for 5 minutes to kill bacteria and germs. Correct me if I am wrong, but how can an UV light sterlize anything? If this is true are we sterlizing our bodies when we tan?
