Terri, Gelish has the Structure base that is for those nail imperfections. I learned this from Becky F. I would use the base to build those areas. If you use color, you will have different shadings in those areas. It will look like pooling. I have a few clients like that and from looking at the photos it Does look like it is pooled where the dips are. But this is my opinion and surely you will get more!!
