Hi Debbie
Having developed several hand sanitizers, most have some of the same ingredients as anti-freeze. One being water and the other being alcohol. Neither is considered "bad", unless you drink too much of them. Of course her herbal product probably isn't registered as a drug with the FDA, so it probably doesn't have a "Drug Fact" label. If it doesn't then it is pretty much useless. Some hand sanitizers are good and some are bad, depending on what is in them. If hers is made of hemp oil, patchouli oil, witch bane, and smurf berry extract, then run away. Also stay away from anything that is antibacterial that has Triclosan in it. Check out my Blog at gelousynails.net for more info on Triclosan. Also I would stay away from anything that touches the skin with Phenol or a Phenolic compound, Glutaraldehyde, or Chlorine Compounds. These are all my personal preferences. People disagree with me on some of these, but I don't use them in my home and I wouldn't ask you to either.
