Hi Debbie,

In my opinion, this group is not a credible source of information. I've been trying to work with them for several years and they refuse to work with us. I have on many occasions suggested many things we can work on together to improve salon safety, especially for the Vietnamese community, and they don't want any part of my recommendations or suggestions. They are a fear-based advocacy group and I don't think they really want solutions, they want to create fear so they can raise more money. Notice the "make a donation" button. That's what this video is about, scaring people into giving them money. That's how fear-based advocacy groups work and that's one main reason why they can't be trusted to tell the truth.

They pretend to be helping the Vietnamese community, but they're not telling them the truth. What they are actually trying to do will end up in destroying the livelihood of the very people they're claiming to be working for. The name of the group is the Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative, but they are a group that's made up of other fear-based advocacy groups such as, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, Environmental Working Group, Women's Voices, The Breast Cancer Fund. In my opinion, none of these groups are reliable sources of information. They exaggerate things beyond the point of credibility and intentionally ignore the truth. I told them that Formaldehyde is not a cosmetic ingredient, yet they continue to pretend that it is. In my opinion, they not are interested in the truth and they don't really care about the Vietnamese nail community or they would be trying to improve safety training and working with manufacturers.

very disturbing indeed, but my biggest thought process is they never mentioned MMA, the vapors, fumes dust from MMA to my understanding is far more debilitating than that of the toxic soup they talk about..

I am sending this over to Doug Schoon.. I never heard of this organization, their wen site has not been updated in 9 months or so either.
