This is really sort of off the subject, but since we were talking about
Dermalogica products, I thought I'd throw this in. I don't have my
ingredient book here with me, but I know in the Precleanse at least, the oil
used is kukui (sp?) nut oil. The difference in this oil compared to other
oils is that while it feels and acts like an oil in the way that it glides
across the skin and the way it breaks down other oils like in makeup, sebum,
etc,but it does emulsify with the addition of water. So you use it first to
break down makeup, by products from pollution, sebum, etc. Then you begin to
add a few drops of water and the "oil" begins to emulisfy. you can
immediately see it take on a milky appearance and feel it change from an
oily feel to water. You can then just rinse it off or wipe it away with a
steamed towel and there's no residue on the skin. That's when you follow up
with whatever cleanser is right for the client's skin. I don't know if this
particular type of oil is used in other Dermalogica products or not, but I
really like it. As yall said, though, it is $$$. That's what I do NOT like
about Dermalogica products.
The Precleanse could be used for massage I guess...and as Lynnette said,
they do have an oil free massage oil which is great. I don't know exactly
what you were looking for as far as an oil free product, but you might could
try one of these products while you're on your diet. Usually you can find
Dermalogica products on ebay. A little goes a long way, too, so it will last
a while.
