Diana,
I have lots of stories and photos, but why not contact Dr Spalding, Athena
and/or Janet M and ask about his"Death by Pedicure."

Buenos dias!

Hi Diana:

Don't know if this is the kind of story you want. About 12 - 14 years ago I
had a new client at The Clinic I was working in as a Clinical Esthetician
(since changed to Medical Esthetician) and had a new client come to me for a
pedicure, her name was Joanne. Joanne brought her friend along with her --
no problem often patients/clients would bring a friend. I proceeded to do
her pedicure, chatting with her the entire time. She and her friend chose
her polish and we finished the service. Before I could ask her to book her
next appointment she said with some amazement "You didn't even hurt me or
draw any blood." I explained a pedicure should be an enjoyable experience
and should not hurt certainly not draw blood, under any circumstances. She
then told me the last place she went always hurt her and made her bleed so
she thought since I was in a Medical Clinic if she bled maybe the Dr. could
check her cut. Several years later she was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes
and because I'm so stringent on checking her feet, insisting that she see
the Dr. about something on her feet or if I suspect a fungal infection and
have even been known to 'argue' with her when she doesn't want polish PLUS I
made the mistake of telling her my son's best friends' wife said after
several years of my trying to get polish and a little art on her toes with a
pedicure that she guessed this time she'd let 'The Pedicure Nazi' polish
and put some art on her toes -- so for the past 10 years I've been known as
The Pedicure Nazi or PN. Even my youngest client (now 7) tells her Mom that
it's time to see the Pedicure Nazi -- this is all in good humour and fun.
Joanne explained to people at her father's funeral, after introducing me as
The Pedicure Nazi, that if I ever had the nerve to retire she would have her
feet cut off and wheels installed so she could just be pushed about.
