>From my former retail life and textiles class... :) I have had this happen with Shellac too.... Soak off gels are very porous (as Elaine Watson has mentioned). Black garments that have been garment dyed (the finish product dyed vs the fabric being dyed) go through a different process than just making an item from black fabric. Sometimes this results in a color transfer of what the base colors of the dye were... sometimes it's a yellow-green, sometimes its pink, sometimes it's purple. Can happen with some acrylic sealants too. For this and a laundry list of reasons, please remind your clients to wash new black clothing before wearing... people do it A LOT during the holidays!!! And even if washed once, to be careful with their nails lest they end up with a funny color from bumping their clothes... LOL. Hope that helps y'all. :) Michelle Cordes, Owner/Licensed Nail Technician The Nail Spa in Silverdale, Washington "The spa for your hands and feet since 1997" www.michellecordes.com

Can anyone give me some input on this? Thanks. Dayna Hi How is your week going? Just thought that I would tell you something about my gel polish. On Saturday night we had our Xmas party for work and I wore a black top. For some reason my nails picked up the colour off the top and turned them a funny purple colour. Would not come off. I had to file it off and then I put a clear coat nail polish over the nails. What do you think. Debbie -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
