Hi Della! I have done the exact opposite as you... I have always used Shellac Base and Top, even with other brands colors. To me, it makes all the difference in the world. No buffing or anything on the natural nail... just prep with Scrubfresh and go on like regular polish. No need to scrub in the base coat, and my soak off is 10 minutes TOPS. Consistantly. Every time. No damage to the natural nail, and I have no inconsistancies with application OR removal time. I would like to buy Gelish, but I am waiting until after the new Shellac colors come out so I can decide what colors I still need. Spend a little time with Shellac base and top and I think you will find that you LOVE it. Just my 2 pennies... Also... A Brush I Like for Gelish Hello Friends, So I have been using the Shellac colors with the Gelish base and top coat and it hold up very well. However, as many of you know it can be time consuming to remove. Since I have finally found the Shellac base and top coat I was wondering if any of you have regretted buying the Shellac top and base. I just hate to throw away money. ( I already have tons of the Shellac colors.) Also, I wanted to share that I started using a brush I had gotten from Gelousy a long time ago that scrubs in the base coat and it is working very well to scrub in the base coat for Gelish. Is the same method used for the Shellac base btw? Also, how many of you wipe of the base coat -vs- a brush to wipe off excess for Gelish? I just saw instructions on NailtechSupply and they tell you to: Wipe off the tacky layer Harmony Gelish Cleaner using a lint-free wipe. Thanks So Much!
