Thank you so much my friends for posting a response :-) I purchased the shellac b& topcoat on Friday thanks to you all~! I can't wait until it arrives to try it~!!!! Woohoooo!!! Like Anna (thanks for the giggle).. I hope I will be having a "love affair" with shellac on the side. Have a wonderful Sunday~!!!! (hopefully with some sunshine!) Della Kemp Indy Hi Della! I have done the exact opposite as you... I have always used Shellac Base and Top, even with other brands colors. To me, it makes all the difference in the world. No buffing or anything on the natural nail... just prep with Scrubfresh and go on like regular polish. No need to scrub in the base coat, and my soak off is 10 minutes TOPS. Consistantly. Every time. No damage to the natural nail, and I have no inconsistancies with application OR removal time. I would like to buy Gelish, but I am waiting until after the new Shellac colors come out so I can decide what colors I still need. Spend a little time with Shellac base and top and I think you will find that you LOVE it. Just my 2 pennies...
Michelle Cordes, Owner/Licensed Nail Technician The Nail Spa in Silverdale, Washington "The spa for your hands and feet since 1997" _www.michellecordes.com_ (http://www.michellecordes.com/) No regrets buying Shellac base+top. Depending on clients, I do sometimes use Gelish+OPI Top Coats with my Shellac base+color. If I use Gelish base, I don't scrub it on and it still works great! Forgot to tell you, I don't wipe the Gelish base... Arpi Sekeryan Nails O Naturel I saw that too but I don't cause I did try it and it left particles on the nail plate....I have been using the Shellac base and top with the Gellish and haven't had any problems as a matter of fact it's much easier to remove with the Shellac rather then the Gellish base and top?? I am however going to be purchasing the entire Gellish system when I go to the Long Beach show #1 they have more colors to choose from and they last allot longer then the Shellace as much as I have a wonderful love affair with Shellac I am gonna be having a love affair with Gellish on the side! Best of luck to you! Anna Creations by Anna Z-James _www.annazjames.com_ (http://www.annazjames.com) Della, Removal of the base's dispersion layer absolutely helps reduce shrink-back of your color coats. Some use the dry-wipe method, others are removing it completely. If you choose to remove completely, give the nail a quick hit with your white block or similar grit file - VERY lightly.
