Thanks Debbie! I am very excited about this new site. We use fb alot so we can
see pictures of each others work and equipment ect.. It can get kinda hairy
with
having clients and other nail techs as friends on fb sometimes. One of my
clients seen some pics of nailart because I commented on it and I think she
befriended the nail tech or tried to and her daughter is painting nail art on
her own nails all the time and copying the designs she is seeing on fb. Seeing
deals from nail companies and ordering and getting the professional price
somehow. Asking me where she can get all these supplies and such. So anyway I
think it is a good idea to be able to keep things separate. Thanks for all the
hard work.

Angie

Angie :) I have been so busy here I havent had a real solid chance to tell
everyone about NTC and why its cool - what relationship there is to beautytech,
this list and the forums.. so now you are making me do it :)

At 12:59 PM 2/21/2011, you wrote:

I joined nailtechconnect and some of you I recognized so I requested to be
friends. Does anyone know what is the difference if you are friends or not on
this site. I'm confused, I just thought if you were a member then everyone is
friends kinda like here. Seems like a cool website.

Yes www.nailtechconnect.com is cool :) It allows you all several tools I can;t
offer at beautytech, some duplication also.

You can upload directly to the site pictures & videos
You can real time char with others logged into the system
We will be having live chat sessions with industry stars
It's very "facebook", so navigation is pretty simple
I have hidden the forums area from the public - not logged in - view
I tried to get the beautytech forums to "appear inside" NTC, but it (a.) isn't
working as I would like and (b.) the forums is the main means of
cross-communication at NTC
The ability to create private "groups" for instance we already made 2 -
educators only where school & manufacturer educators can discuss their specific
issues in private way from not only the public, but from the average technician
as well. A second was created for those of us who coordinate and host
networking
events, so we can discuss things pertaining to that in private also - hopefully
long term making each better events in all aspects.

Will I shut beautytech? probably not.. would I like to have everyone to make
full use of both sites :( of course! There are some thing I just can not do at
NTC. I can't install software, run the shopping cart there, the links pages and
a few other things.. so long term, BT may just become the shopping site
referring all discussion etc to NTC.. I just havent thought that far in advance
just yet :)

This mailing list will stay no matter what happens down the road with BT & NTC
though..

As far as the friends thing.. just like in FB, you need to friend everyone you
want to, to make for easier cross communication.

Hope that helps make sense :)
