Looks like I'm in the minority but here is my take on it.
I was late to work this morning because I couldn’t leave without watching both
episodes. First a few things, overall there was very little in salon footage
used in the show (at least for these first two episodes). Katie has a potty
mouth, mostly during the narration segments and out of the salon. So do I, I’m
not mad at her. I looked at the show for what it is, not for what it isn’t. We
(nailtechs) are the only folks willing to watch 30 min of the day to day
intricacies of running a nail salon and mani/pedi services. The TV Guide
channel did not make this show for us. If Katie’s personality was not a bit
over the top (for some), there would be no show. Or the TV Guide channel would
have selected another salon whose owner is that personality they were looking
for.
The first two episodes were pretty much about Katie’s PR person sending her on
a wild and expensive goose chase to the Sundance Film Festival to promote
herself and her products in a celebrity gifting suite where virtually no celebs
showed up. The in salon segments were with Debbie Gibson getting services and
Too Short came in with someone to get mani/pedis. During Too Short’s services,
he and his friend were the only ones in the salon so I don’t see what the huge
deal was. I don’t think Katie was as inappropriate as folks are saying given
who it was in the salon. I live in the SF Bay area where Too Short is from.
Chile, don’t let me see Too Short out here. Dropping a raunchy rhyme and boot
clapping are on the table. That’s rap royalty right there. I don’t hate it like
others do. It’s a “reality show” following the reality show formula. No drama,
no show. I’ll continue to watch cause quite frankly, Katie is likable. And
that’s what the TV Guide Channel was looking for.

When the first episode came on I felt like it was to much to take in..LOL But as the second episode came on I really liked it!!!! Can't wait until Tuesday, I will be watching...:)
