20 coats for color and top, 35 for base. If you keep it shaken you can use it 
down to the last drop I have done so.  An easy way to track usage is a blank 
sticker or label on the back and make tally marks for each coat you use it. To 
see the cost per use go to cnd.com log in then click tools and support, select 
Shellac support.

I agree that 20 applications is not accurate, Shellac's bottle is half the size 
of Gelish, which says that you get 25-30 applications of 2 coats.   R
