What product are you having shrikage with? Is it light colors or dark colors? The only ones I have shrinkage with is darker colors, for those I will either remove tacky layer with acetone and lightly buff then apply, OR I will take my gel brush, that I have pinched clean and dry wipe the tacky layer off of the base coat. It will feel like the brush is pulling on the nail.
As for applying SOG on a finished acrylic nail, I don't use a base coat, but I DO use Protein Bond (Non acid, stickey based primer) on the ENTIRE nail. Hope that helps!
