Hey Techies,

I had some time to play at the salon today and I played with Dashing Diva
Designfx bling. It is a nail covering similar to Minx. I found it to not be
very flexible and I couldn't get the edges to stay down, it frayed when I tried
to file the excess off, so, I took it "off label" ;)

Here's what I did:
One coat of Gelife Base Gel, cured it in my Presto LED lamp. Wiped the
dispersion layer with 99 % Alcohol.
Applied the Designfx
Trimmed excess with nail clippers leaving a small margin longer than free edge
Applied Gelife Base Gel, cured in LED lamp
Applied small amount of base gel to underside of free edge, cured in LED lamp
Applied Gelife Top Gel, cured in LED lamp
Applied small amount of top gel to underside of free edge, cured in LED lamp
Wiped dispersion layer with 99% alcohol
Shaped free edges with 180 grit file. I even extended 2 nails that were shorter
than the rest by 1/4 inch.

I had to do one nail at a time because it did not want to stay down on the
sides, so I pressed it down, trimmed the excess, pressed it down again, quickly
applied base gel and quickly got it in the lamp. After I had all the nails on
one hand on with Base Gel, I then applied base gel to all five free edge
undersides and cured them. Then I applied Top Gel to all five (top and
underside) and cured, turned them over and cured the underside. It still took
only one hour to do both hands because I use the LED lamp that cured each coat
in 20 seconds.

I will post pictures on Facebook as soon as I can.

I have no clue how I am going to get this off in 2 weeks. The instructions say
to file the gel off the surface then peel the Designfx off, but, I put gel
under the free edge, so...... I have most likely gotten myself into a fine mess
yet again. I may have to use a barrel bit on my electric file to file the gel
off the underside. I'll worry about it in about 2 weeks :/

I'll let everyone know how well it lasts and how hard it is to remove.
