So last year I purchased the Gelish 9g lamp, used it for a week... all clients returned with their polish peeling and sliding off. I was told it was a five-finger lamp, which was erroneous.
I returned the $360 lamp and went back to my trusty UV Shellac lamp. Crisis averted.... Yesterday, I went to Allure nail supply (allurenailsupply.com) who has the 18g Gelish lamp. They allowed me to play and test the lamp with their own hands and we did several placement tests and color/manufacturer tests. The fingers were all cured nicely and the time savings is a dream. This supplier has the OPI lamp as well. I compared the differences and since the Gelish lamp is $75 less, I am going with it. I didn't have the cash that day, so I put it on hold with a down payment and will pick it up in a couple of weeks. I primarily use Gelish and Shellac. I have several other polish companies that I am really liking (INK brand GP are $9.50 and are AMAZING with color choices and the way it goes on/sets up) I still have the start-to-finish setup for Shellac and will use it as a designer manicure (because of the requirement to use the entire line) but the LED polish lines are going to cost me less and take less time. I will also change accordingly, meaning a Shellac manicure will be more. I hope Shellac will get on the LED bandwagon, although when they do, I'm sure they will have their own lamp that we will have to wait months for. :) I'm excited about the LED lamp and speeding up my time which allows me to work a little slower and quit destroying my body.
