For anyone/everyone who hasn't already heard this via Facebook, my Nails Mag
blog, Athena's Nail Talk Radio (thanks, Na!!!) -- I am working on a book.

I'm sick and $#&*! tired of nails not being equally represented in the salon
industry, and I think every salon should have a style book lying around that's
filled with nothing but photos of nail styles... just like all those hair style
books that are lying around every salon.

I am NOT looking for fancy, competition-quality, professionally photographed
nails that real clients would never wear and that most nail techs can't
reproduce. A smattering of those would be great for the project, but mostly,
I want the same snapshots we all take and post on our websites and FB pages to
promote our work.

I don't care if they are long, short, square, oval, almond, stiletto, or duck
foot.

I don't care if they are pink and white, polished, rockstar, treasured
up/blinged up, hand painted, airbrushed, decals, stamps, Fimo, rhinestones--
what ever your clients are wearing is what this book is about.

This is a genuine, big legal publication-- I'll need proper copyright
release info for any photos that you send me. But this is also a very humble,
grassroots project-- at least in the beginning-- Visit the project's website
(currently codenamed "Onykophile"-- what else?) http://onykophile.com  It has
the concept spelled out, my vision for the future of the project, instructions
for submitting photos and a link to the .pdf forms for copyright release.

You can also join my Facebook group "Onykophile Empire" to keep in the loop.

Please share the link and info with as many nail techs as you can.

Something awesome? If you work for a manufacturer, or just LOVE the company
whose products you use, I am encouraging you to name your products! Every photo
in the book will be credited with the artist's name, location, and the products
and technique used. Photos should be free of watermarks and as high of
resolution as possible, and in focus! (It's killing me to have to reject some
of the photos that I can tell are of great nails but are so out of focus it
hurts to look at them.)

But all that is on the website and you can always contact me privately if you
have questions-- I promised Deb I wouldn't junk up the list with this. But I
want everyone to have a chance to contribute their photos!
