I use OPI but I would use whatever brand you use. I like sticky by CND for basecoat. I use Out the Door for top. When I do a French on toes I place my left thumb over the skin of the tip of the toe. That way the white would get on my thumb instead of on their skin and also to hold the skin down. Hope that makes sense.
