I was told many many years ago that curling at the ends of nails under acrylics could be caused by stress....I don't know that this is correct or an old wives tell but you never know....try drilling them out and place a very thin layer of acrylic under the nails.....best of luck!

The hot detergent water can cause the nail to soften, and when it dries, it pulls away from the acrylic. Have her try wearing gloves for a few weeks and see if that doesn't help. I do not work in a salon anymore. I am pretty much retired from nails save for a couple friends I see at my house. One of them is the subject of this quandary. Her nails ALWAYS curl away at the corners under the acrylic. I know normally this is from dryness and I should tell her to use oil, etc... but she DOES. I KNOW she does. She also is hydrated internally, because she drinks a ton of water. I am at a loss, and it is understandably driving HER nuts, too. Can you think of any other possible causes for this, and, more importantly, anything else I can try for her? The only thing I wonder about is maybe her thyroid meds could be doing something? She takes Armour. Thanks in advance for any possible solutions :) Amy in CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
