So I had to run into the beauty supply for some little something a couple
weeks ago and didn't have my card with me. As the clerk called to verify, I
heard a conversation going on behind me between a couple of clients and one
of the clerks about gels. They were asking questions and the saleslady
didn't know how to answer them. I usually don't do this, but I went over
and offered to help them. They were students at the local academy (although
they were both grown women, not kids straight out of school), and explained
that they were wanting to learn about gels but their instructor didn't know
about them, etc etc. I gave them my card and told them if they wanted to
learn about them they could come up to my salon. So the next week, one of
them called and asked if she could come by and talk to me about them. We
made an appointment and she came in. As we talked, I discovered she was a
former nurse, as I am, so we sort of connected. I showed her around the
salon, she fell in love with the facial room and said she wanted to make an
appt for a facial. We went on back and went through some basics about gels.
I did a couple of p&w on her and even gave her a trial kit of Young Nails
that I was saving. She asked if she could come back and get some advice on
acrylics, too. Then again said she wanted to make an appt for a facial.
Soooo, we set her up an appt for this past Thurs. Guess what. She never
showed. So I'm steaming because she came and took my time, took the product
I gave her, booked this appt and then just blew it off and stood me up.
Her appt was at 2:30. At 2:40 I called her and said "I had you down at
2:30, but it's 2:40 and I was wondering if you are just running late, or
what. Call me and let me know" or something to that effect, but never heard
from her. Of course I still have all the laundry to do and went through all
the trouble of getting my room ready for a facial that never friggin
showed. I feel like calling her and saying "Hey, THANKS A LOT" BTW, while
she was there we were talking about prn nursing and home care, etc, and she
said she wouldn't take certain assignments for home care because she drove
a Lexus and a Corvette and wouldn't drive them into certain areas of town.
Also talked about how they have put their son thru college and so on...a
little much about the money situation imo. But then to just stand me up.
GRR! I was really mad about that. Put a discouraging damper on my week.
Just wanted to vent about it. Thanks for listening.
