You could use something called "corner braces" ...just right angle metal with 
holes at each end. For the glass part I would see if those tiny "suction cup" 
things that u use to hang stuff on windows would work. I think you can get them 
at craft stores... Put the suction part on the bottom of a shelf of glass and 
drop the other side of the suction cup in the hole of the corner brace. If you 
feel the need, secure with rubber cement maybe?

You could check out the floating brackets used on floating glass shelves... But 
those are usually designed fir bigger shelves than you're wanting and 1/4" 
glass may not be thick enough...
