Hi Nancy,
I am looking for directions on how to cook spaghetti squash. My
husband had it before with marinara sauce and swears it tastes and
looks like spaghetti. I'm curious how to cook it and what other
recipes I could make with it.
Thank you, Dana Peters

This is for Barbara in Daytona. I think the cookie she is talking
about is the Spritx cookie. My mother made them. Most recipes call
for them to use a cookie press. There are many recipes on line. Just
put in Spritz Cookies. My grown son makes them as it reminds him of
early years with Nana.

Hi- This is in response to Maureen's request for cookout ideas for
son's graduation party. Whenever we have a big group for casual
dinner, Mother's Day/Father's Day, etc...we do shish ka bob. We
usually cut up a London broil and boneless chicken breasts into 1
1/2 inch squares and marinate overnight. We also use green, red,
yellow, and orange peppers, onions, mushrooms, pineapple chunks, and
cherry tomatoes. We cook it, then put it in a big bowl and let
guests choose what they want. I have a delicious marinade recipe.....

Marinade
3.5 C. Pineapple Juice
1 C. Soy Sauce
1 C. Dry White Wine
1/2 C. Red Wine Vinegar
3/4 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Garlic, minced fine

Hope this helps!!! :) Jan-Marie in Va

Hi, This recipe is for Rhonda, this recipe is so easy.

Best Sweet Pickles Known
1 (46 oz. kosher whole dill pickles
3-cups sugar
7 oz. vinegar

Drain pickles and slice back into jar ( you can slice onions with
the pickles too). Add sugar gradually with vinegar. Recap, shake
every 20 or 30 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Then put the jar of
pickles in the ice box and leave them for about 3 weeks, then
ENJOY!!!!!!
VERY VERY GOOD

Hi Nancy,
I love your newsletter and the great recipes. I hope your move was
successful and you like Texas. I was in Detroit, Michigan this last
week for a wedding shower which was catered from a restaurant
called "Honey ___". Would like the recipe for Raspberry Chicken
Salad. The chicken tasted like lemon with herbs and the raspberry
dressing was fantastic. Hope someone can provide recipe.
thanks. Rosemary in WV.

Dear Nancy,
You do so much for us, & I want you to know that everyone who
frequents your site, leaves better than when they arrived.
My question is, for quite some time I was able to buy "Annie's Ice
Cream" at Sam's Wholesale, but they no longer carry it, & can't tell
me who does. I have had no luck searching the Internet for grocery
stores selling "Annie's Ice Cream." I am hoping that someone,
somewhere will know the brand I am searching for, & with luck, maybe
can tell me who is selling it now, & really hoping it is a business
in our local area.
I am Jan from Florida.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks.

Hello and thanks for the superb job you do for all of us in
cyberland. This is for Maureen who is planning a party (cookout)
for her son's graduation/birthday. Maureen, how about some grilled
flank steaks , potato salad or a rice dish, tossed salad, and a
fancy jello mold plus desert. [EMAIL PROTECTED]

FLANK STEAK
The easiest way to make this is to buy Yoshido's Original marinade.
Sam's Club has it and I bet Costco does too. Take a sharp fork
(like a cooking fork) and punch holes all over the steaks to
tenderize them. Turn them over and poke them on the other side as
well. The more holes, the more tender the meat. I do it about
every inch. Pour on the marinade. Refrigerate covered over
night. Grill them until rare or medium rare. Slice them on the
diagonal. Yum!!!
Questions? [EMAIL PROTECTED]

POTATO SALAD (This is THE best. Whenever we've invited to a
cookout, my friends always request that I bring this.)

red skinned potatoes ( 1 small per person) Cooked. COLD
HELLMAN's mayonaise (not light and NO OTHER BRAND)
chopped celery
chopped green onions (tops and greens)
hard boiled eggs (half as many eggs as potatoes)
salt/pepper/celery seed to taste

The trick to making excellent potato salad is to slice the potatoes
thinly. Do NOT cube. This helps the flavor marinade. Slice some of
the potatoes. Add some mayo to moisten. Slice some hard boiled
eggs. Add some celery and green onions, salt and pepper . Now
repeat until you have the amount you need. Finish by decorating
with the celery seed on top. Be sure the potato salad is moist
enough. Refrigerate at least overnight. Can even be made several
days ahead. ( This is easier to make if you chop the celery and
green onion ahead of time. Also, I cook my potatoes in a pressure
cooker for 15 minutes, then refrigerate overnight. They are easier
to slice when cold.)

HEAVENLY FLUFF JELLO MOLD (thanks to Shirley Hale)

1 lg. pkg . orange jello
2 cups hot water
1 cup cold orange juice
1 medium can crushed pineapple undrained
1 large can mandarin oranges (drain and cut)

Mix jello and water. Stir in orange juice. Add orange slices and
pineapple. Congeal until solid.

TOPPING FOR MOLD

1 small pkg. INSTANT lemon pudding
1 cup milk
1 small container of whipped topping
Whole strawberries to garnish.

Using mixer, whip the milk and instant pudding together. Fold in
the whipped topping. Spread over congealed jello. Garnish with
fresh strawberries. This is yummy. Enjoy and think of me!

This is a response to Kat for the Green's and Bean's recipe. Kat,
you add the wine the same time you add the chicken stock. Sorry I
forgot to include that. I just made them on Saturday and they were
wonderful.
Linda

Please tell Linda that my family loves the beans and greens. They
were so good and easy. Thank you both so much. Your site is doing
so well and it is such a pleasure to read. Thanks for all your hard
work.
PS. Nancy, sorry to hear about Siggy's eyesite. I have 7 cats and
the oldest Siamese is 13 now and losing his eyesight also. Actually
he can see nearby objects but can't see well across the room. So
you are right about leaving lights on. My other cats "guide" my
oldest kitty around by telling him things and by leading the way to
the food and around objects. I am careful not to move furniture,
rugs, food and the potty box. I am also careful not to put strange
boxes or objects he's not used to on the floor. I also put him in
the bedroom with his best kitty friend when the grandkids visit.
I'm glad you like your new house and have lots of space. Wish you
both all the happiness in the world. hugs, cat

Nancy,
I was wondering if any of your people would have a recipe for soft
pineapple cookies. My mom made these when I was a child. She has
passed away and I can not find her recipe for these. Would
appreciate this recipe very much. I really enjoy your newsletter
and look forward to it all the time. Keep up the good work.
thank you, S.Z. from Middleton, PA

I went to Petsmart today to get Siggy an identification tag with our
new phone number. Went to the cat toy section and came home with
three new toys and forgot identification tag. Siggy was impressed
with two of the three toys and has been busy all evening playing
with them all evening. Next time I will try to remember the
identification tag first.

this mix including this one

1/8 cup Baking Powder

Anne, Bisquick is a general purpose baking mix. It contains flour,
salt, baking powder and shortening. You use a regular pie plate or
tin to make the impossible pie. And yes the pie will make it's own
crust. It will have a different texture from a rolled crust, but is
still good. It is quick and easy, give it a try. I hope this
helps.

you can make your own version of Bisquick... follow these
instructions. It really makes great impossible pies, not like the
real thing, but close enough. It is a very versatile mix to work
with. I have never made my own.... but if you care to try. Here is
