Around here most Chinese specials come in aluminum containers, this
is especially true of what is called luncheon specials &
combination platters. Also, most restaurants in this are use
aluminum containers as 'doggie bags'. Any left overs to take home
are put in foil containers and a clear plastic or cardboard lid is
used as a lid.

I love your newsletter and have copied & tried many recipes since I
love to cook. Thanks for all your hard work- and I'm sure it is a
lot of work. You're very dedicated. Again, I do hope this gets thru.

Hi Nancy!
I was wondering if you could help with the following
recipe:

This is a TNT icebox pie recipe for Linda. It comes from a woman
who was very dear to my husband and I. I make it often in the
summer months. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Granny's Cherry Delight Pies (makes 2 pies)

1 can Cherry Pie Filling
2 Graham Crackers Crusts
1-12 oz pkg Cream Cheese
3/4 cups sugar
Bananas

Place sliced bananas in pie shell. Mix dream whip as directed on the
box, mix with cream cheese & sugar. Pour or ladle into pie shell.
Pour cherry pie filling
over it. Refrigerate.
The Howells

No Dream Whip was mentioned in the ingredient list and I was
wondering how many envelopes would be used. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks so much, Nancy!

Suggestion for Stuffed Cabbage recipe
This is for Carol J--
Simply make your favorite recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls (beef,
rice, tomato sauce, spices). Then instead of "stuffing" the cabbage
leaves, cut the cabbage up and layer cabbage, meat/rice mixture,
tomato mixture.  (That's cabbage, meat/rice,  tomato mixture;
cabbage, meat/rice, tomato mixture; with cabbage and tomato mixture
on top).
It tastes great, but doesn't take nearly as long to prepare!

I'd like to hear more, lots more about the kitties!
Thank you again for your wonderful newsletter!

Recipe for Potato Skins
For Nancy/Potato skins.
First mix about 1/2 cup of spicy brown mustard, a squirt of olive
oil, a dash of garlic(optional) salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
you will need several slices crisp bacon,(crumbled). bunch of
scallions(chopped).About 6 red potatoes, sliced length ways. Scoop
out about 3/4's of the potato, (use for mash potatoes if you like.)
Rub the halves really good with mustard mixture, turn face down on
cookie sheet, bake until brown(on potato side) remove from oven, put
bacon bits, onion, shredded cheese and more scallions into shell,
melt cheese in oven. Serve with sour cream on top. These will
disappear as soon as you put them on the table. "TNT"

Request for Tuna and Tomato Soup Recipe or Tomato Sauce
This is the first time I have sent in a request. Hope I do it
correctly. Years ago I found a recipe in the newspaper using drained
canned tuna, and either tomato soup, ketchup or tomato sauce, I
can't remember which. To this mixture you added some spices. Can't
remember which ones. Simmered everything together. Served on
hamburger buns and it tasted just like Bar-B-Que Beef. My family
never knew the difference. Moving around with the military I lost
the recipe. Would love to have it again. I would appreciate any help
I could get with this recipe.

Site for Canning and Preserving Cherries
This is a late answer for Tanya who was looking for recipes for
canning and preserving cherries. I had just found some good ones at
http://www.justfruitrecipes.com
and was typing them in when I had to leave my computer for a while.
When I came back I had forgotten that I was writing something and
turned the computer off (LOL, I am too young for intellectual
interludes!!!) so I lost them, but I hope you will find them on this
site. The ones I had copied were called Cherry Jam, (two of them)
and Cherry Rum Preserves. There were probably many more, but these
ones were the ones I saw and they looked nice.

Good luck, Tanya!

Comment
It may take several weeks to get a message posted because there is
not enough room in the newsletter to post all the messages each
week. If a message has no capital letters or all capital letters it
will not posted to the newsletter. Messages with no punctuation or
excessive punctuation are not posted as well. (Example excessive
periods in the middle or at the end of sentences.)

I checked for your message and it will probably be posted in the
next newsletter.
