Hamburger "Steaks" with Mushroom Gravy
Serves 4

About 10-15 minutes hands on time; about 25 minutes total time to
the table

This is one of the fastest and leanest hamburger "steak" and gravy
recipes that I've tried . . . and the best. It really has
that "roadside diner" taste and is ready in no time.

3 Tbsp oatmeal
2 Tbsp fat-free egg substitute
1 Tbsp dried minced onion
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 lb ground beef (95% lean)
1 package brown gravy mix (to make 2 cups)
2 tsp horseradish
1 (4 oz) can mushrooms, drained
dash garlic powder

Pulse the oatmeal in a food processor, if available. In a bowl,
combine the oatmeal, egg substitute, onion flakes, mustard, and
ground beef. Mix together well. Shape the meat mixture into four
balls, then flatten into ½"-thick patties. Spray a skillet with
cooking spray. Heat to medium. Cook the patties 4-5 minutes per
side. While the patties are cooking, make the gravy according to the
package directions. Mix in the horseradish, garlic powder, and
mushrooms. Pour over the patties and cook for an additional 5
minutes.

Per serving, 1 patty with 1/4 cup gravy, approximately 215 calories;
5.9 g. fat; 9.9 g. carbohydrates; .6 g. sugar; 2.1 g. fiber; 27.7 g.
protein

(Use extra gravy on mashed potatoes.)
