There has not been enough room for all of the replies and responses
in the newsletter for the past several days. It is really great to
have so much participation in this group. Please be patient in
getting your response posted. It may take 3-4 days to get all message

This is for Lisa-Union Bridge,MD from the August 17 newsletter. I dip
my cube steak in flour, salt and pepper it and fry it in a non-stick
skillet with a little oil until browned and tender. While the steak
is frying, mix a packet of brown gravy mix with extra water (about a
cup) and have hot when the steak is done. Add cooked steak and dry,
chopped onions to the gravy. Simmer on low for about 30-45 minutes.
Add extra water if needed. You may have to use 2 packets of gravy mix
if you are preparing several pieces of steak. This is one of my
family's favorites and I cook it often. The gravy is wonderful over
mashed potatoes.

This is for Rich Kisch: This is the best recipe I have ever found for
banana cake. Hope you will try it and let us know what you think.

Banana Cake
6 Bananas
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. Vanilla
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
4 cups flour
3/4 cup vegetable oil (I use Canola)
3/4 cup lukewarm water
4 egg whites, beaten stiff

Mash bananas; add sugar, egg yolks and vanilla. Sift together baking
powder, baking soda, and flour and add to first mixture. Add oil and
water. Fold in egg whites. Pour into a 9"x13" baking pan, sprayed
with Pam. Bake 350 degrees for one hour or until a pick comes out
clean. Be careful not to overbake.
