I disagree.  Gmail spam filtering has been pretty bad for me.  A lot of
mailing list traffic (various IETF lists and even NANOG) and responses from
businesses that I communicate with end up in my spam folder.  And a lot of
real spam and phishing messages end up in my inbox.  If I could, I would
disable it and do my spam filtering manually.  It would be less work than
undoing the mess that the current filter creates.
