Exactly. I'm claiming that the meeting was a more effective vehicle than a mailing list for the group of people involved -- NANOGers. I'm also suggesting that, by extension, cross-pollination between NANOG and IETF meetings would be more efficient than simple forays onto "the other mailing list" (with "other" defined by one's perspective).
