I tried to run strace on nano-X and this is what I get :

execve("/bin/nano-X", ["nano-X"], [/* 15 vars */]) = 0
syscall: unknown syscall trap 0xe1a00000

Could it be anything else except the /tmp directory or the UNIX socket?

First, /tmp, not /TMP

If its writeable and you're still getting the error, then perhaps
local UNIX sockets aren't working on your target.

Greg

: /TMP where ? in ROOT ?
:
: Or in /BIN/tmp ?
:
: I have it and it's writable but still I get the same error.
